Vestas Development is a newly established business unit within Vestas. The function’s main responsibilities are to originate and develop new wind projects across the globe via its own resources as well as via development partnerships that are established and supervised by the group. In light of rapid growth, we are now looking for a Finance Controller for the team in Latin America.
Responsibilities
You will be the Finance Business Partner to the LATAM Development team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Drive the set-up for our new SPVs, from the SAP implementation, bank account opening, transfer of accounting to Shared Service Center.
- Control of costs/expenditure as per Development budget and monitoring activities in coordination with Project Managers.
- Month-end reporting including all associated processes and controls.
- Ensure compliance to local regulations, tax returns and statutory accounts.
- Ensure accounting treatment in line with Group policies and guidelines.
- Support with issues and concerns that arise from daily activities such are payments, access issues, etc.
- Support with training to the Development teams across the regions on the financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and controls for the Development Business.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and embrace initiatives.
- Prepare balance sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Project cash flow planning.
- Provide forecasts and advise to functional leader.
Qualifications
- Preferably +5 years of experience with financial controlling and reporting processes in a large international company or from an international auditing business.
- Good accounting and analytical skills.
- Great understanding of Brazilian accounting and tax rules.
- Ability to use excel tool efficiently to evaluate large sets of data and skilled user of IT/accounting systems.
- Experience with financial consolidation systems such as SAP BPC or similar.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
- MSc in Business Administration & Auditing, Finance, Accounting or similar.
